- אֱלָלh., אֲלַל ch. m. (b. h. אֱלִל Job 13:4; v. אֱלִיל; cmp. הלל) soft, lax object, whence fatty substance, offal of meat. Targ. Job. l. c.Ḥull.IX, 1 (Gem. 121a>, diff. of opin. as to what kind of offal is meant in the Mish., v. מַרְדְּקָא). Ib. הא׳ המכונס the offal gathered (as a ball). Zeb.III, 4.Toh. I, 4 אֱלִיל. Meil.7a א׳ כיון דלית ביהוכ׳ ălal, because there is no substantial value in it. Zeb.35a פיגל בא׳ if one had an inappropriate thought about ălal of fowls (which is fit to eat).
